Fred Sherman

A veteran of broadcasting and production for more than 30 years, Fred Sherman is the President and Senior Creative Director of Blink Creative at WGBH in Boston. 

Founded in 2007, Blink Creative serves the corporate and broadcast world providing experiential marketing and production services ranging from national television production to live events. Blink Creative’s teams travel the globe creating video and corporate events for their clients including; Ocean Spray, Boston Scientific, Comcast and Motorola. 

In the years prior to Blink Creative, Fred’s background spanned the gamut from corporate events to Olympic ceremonies, the re-dedication of the Statue of Liberty in 1986, the stage at Radio City Music Hall, Super Bowl Halftime shows, national and local television, feature films and the theme park industry.

As a Writer/Producer at WBZ-TV in Boston, he developed television, print and radio promotion and marketing strategy, as well as producing roles on numerous station programs including many Group W special projects and multiple years as a producer on “People Are Talking” hosted by Tom Bergeron at the start of his television career.

Fred’s work at WBZ helped earn his teams numerous Emmy Awards, an Iris Award and a number of local Emmy Awards and nominations.  

Fred also spent a number of years working for Hearst Broadcasting as a founding employee of New England Cable News, and special projects producer at WCVB and for the Hearst Family Foundation.

in 2014 Fred was surprised and honored to be personally asked by Leonard Nimoy to  create a retrospective video of his career, just months before the beloved actor passed away.

Fred has served as a Governor of the Boston/New England chapter of the National Television Academy for more than a decade and was the producer of the chapter’s Emmy Awards for 11 years.  Fred is also an officer in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and past commanding officer of the Boston Flotilla.

Fred and his wife Judy live just outside of Boston, and are avid rescuers of German Shepherds.
