Scholarships
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) is a professional association dedicated to the advancement of television and related electronic media. Best known for the Emmy Awards, which recognize excellence across various categories and genres, the Academy also sponsors programs, seminars, and scholarships through its 19 regional chapters. Through its non-profit foundation, the National Organization awards scholarships to outstanding high school seniors planning to pursue a degree in any aspect of the television industry.

National Scholarships
This year The Foundation will award scholarships named for Jim McKay, Douglas W. Mummert & Mike Wallace.
The Jim McKay Memorial Scholarship ($10,000)
Awarded to a student pursuing a career in sports broadcasting, the Jim McKay Memorial Scholarship honors the legacy of sportscaster Jim McKay (1921-2008). Established in 2009, it is funded by HBO, CBS, NBC, ABC, ESPN, and FOX networks. This scholarship is presented at the Sports Emmy® Awards each year.
The Douglas W. Mummert Scholarship ($10,000)
This scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing a career in any aspect of the television industry, with a focus on those who have made a positive impact through community service.
The Mike Wallace Memorial Scholarship ($10,000)
Awarded to a student pursuing a career in television journalism, the Mike Wallace Memorial Scholarship is funded by a grant from CBS News in honor of longtime correspondent Mike Wallace (1918-2012). It is presented each year at the News & Documentary Emmy® Awards.
