The Vision

The Foundation of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) is establishing a permanent endowment dedicated to the protection and promotion of the First Amendment.

This initiative is designed to support journalists who are telling the difficult, necessary stories that require a steadfast defense of free speech.

The Mission

We aim to bridge the gap between academic aspiration and the challenges of modern journalism by providing

Financial Support: Merit-based scholarships for students pursuing careers in investigative and frontline journalism.

Advocacy & Resources: Access to a network of mentors to help them navigate First Amendment challenges.

Forum for Established Journalists: share thoughts points of view and ideas on the First Amendment and the challenges they face in their work.
