Angela Santomero


Angela C. Santomero is the Co-Creator and Executive Producer for ten innovative brands for kids, including Blue’s Clues, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and Princess Penelope’s Purple Purse of Preposterous Things, and Creator/Host of “Make a Kids’ Show” masterclass.  

Each of Angela’s series have won awards and been proven successful to change the course of media, for kids.  She was the first to create the signature “interactive” content model to engage kids to participate and learn through play.  She also started a formal research process that showcased each of the series to be successful for kids on air as well as in summative and longitudinal studies, proving that kids learned through her media hits. 

Angela started her career as the Co-Creator, Executive Producer and Head Writer for the breakthrough, award-

winning and long-standing brand, Blue’s Clues, which debuted in 1996, along with the spin-offs, Blue’s Room, the new hit, Blue’s Clues &YOU on Nickelodeon/Paramount +. Blue’s Clues & You boasts 1.5+ billion views on You Tube alone. The Blue’s Clues legacy continue with Angela writing and producing the highly rated, and New York Times reviewed, Paramount + live action family movie, Blue’s Big City Adventure. In the bestselling book, The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell referred to Blue’s Clues as, “one of the stickiest TV shows EVER made.” 

Angela is the Creator, Executive Producer and Head Writer for the smash hit Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, on PBS Kids which is based on the Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood legacy.  She also Created the groundbreaking literacy series, Super Why, on PBS Kids, which was her Masters’ Thesis from Teachers’ College, Columbia University.  Angela also Created Executive Produced and Head Wrote Creative Galaxy on Amazon Studios, an arts-based curriculum series, as well as the affirmational magical series, Wishenpoof on Amazon Studios. She also acts as Creator, Executive Producer and writer on Charlie’s Colorforms City on Netflix, based on the art of storytelling, and is the Co-Creator and Executive Producer of Hello, Jack on Apple TV +, grounded in a kindness curriculum, featuring Jack McBreyer, and the Creator and Executive Producer of Dee & Friends in Oz on Netflix, inspired by Frank Baum’s classic book, Wizard of Oz.Angela’s original preschool brand is Princess Penelope’s Purse of Preposterous Things which has been signed as a 4 book publishing brand, and an interactive mixed media digital series.  

Angela is the Creator and Host of Make a Kids’ Show an evergreen master class series grounded in her philosophy of creating highly successful kids’ brands that are grounded in entertainment, education, a strong mission, vision, and curriculum.

As an author and speaker, Angela has written three books for adults, Life Clues: Unlocking the Lessons to an Exceptional Life (Loyola Press); Preschool Clues:  Raising Smart, Inspired and Engaged Kids in a Screen-Filled World (Touchstone/Simon and Schuster), and Radical Kindness (Harper Collins), which she starred in a PBS Pledge Special, as well as numerous children’s books for Blue’s Clues and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood (Simon and Schuster), which sold over 10 million copies, worldwide. She has her master’s degree in child developmental psychology and instructional technology and media from Columbia University, Teacher’s College, which awarded her with a 1999 Early Career Award, and a B.A. from The Catholic University of America, which awarded her The Young Alumni Merit Award.
