Laurens Grant is a three-time Emmy, Spirit, and Peabody award-winning documentary filmmaker who has made films for multiple platforms including MGM+, WBD, PBS, Showtime, CNN, BET and others.
Her latest films include: the Spirit Award-winning docuseries Hollywood Black, about 100 years of African American history in front of and behind the camera, directed by Justin Simien, of which she is a Co-Executive Producer; and For All Humankind, of which she is the director, writer and showrunner, about the space titans launching their first crewed missions to space the same week that George Floyd was killed. Trevor Noah is executive producer.
She is also a voting member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences – Documentary Branch, the Television Academy, the Writers Guild of America West; the Producers Guild of America, the Independent Documentary Association, and she is a long-time member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. She is also fluent in Spanish after living and working as a journalist in Latin America.
