David Burt is Station Manager for Boston City TV and Boston Kids and Family TV in Boston, Massachusetts.

He began his television career as an intern at WPXT in Portland, Maine. Upon graduating from the University of Southern Maine, WPXT hired David full-time, where he worked for over ten years in engineering, master control and the production department. He helped create Maine’s first Fox Television Network affiliate, FOX51.

In 1991, David was appointed Station Promotion Director at FOX51, where he directed all on-air promotions, station image, outside media planning/buying and managed all activities of the 50,000 member FOX51 Kids Club. The following year, David was responsible for the promotional launch of Maine’s first 10PM newscast, The FOX51 Ten O’Clock News.

In his current position with the City of Boston, David works very closely with Mayor Martin J. Walsh, his administration and numerous city departments to educate and inform Boston residents, through programming and public service campaigns, about city services and public health and education related issues.

David produces, directs and manages award winning and Emmy® nominated programs About Health with Jeanne Blake and Game of the Week. He also supervises production of The Boston Show, Around Your Neighborhood, Commissioners Corner and Live public/community meeting and event coverage.

His office also regulates the cable television license franchises for the City of Boston, working closely with constituent services and the Boston cable TV providers.

For the Boston/New England Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS), David has served as Chair of the Chapter’s Education Committee, National Student Television Coordinator, 2nd Vice President, Awards Chair, National Trustee and Chapter President.

At the National level of NATAS, David was elected in 2009 and again in 2015, by the Chapter Presidents to serve as Chapter Representative to the National Awards Committee, where he works closely with the organization to present the coveted Emmy® Award for News & Documentary, Sports, Daytime Entertainment, Daytime Creative Arts & Entertainment, Public & Community Service, Technology & Engineering, and Business & Financial Reporting.

David resides in Boston with his partner Joe and their Beagle/Hound, CJ
