Julie Lucas is the national secretary for NATAS.  She was senior director of marketing for Metropolitan State University of Denver, directing special projects, university communications and establishment of a brand journalism initiative.

Her previous experience includes directing media and public relations at the University of Denver, communications and marketing at On Command Corporation, Discovery Communications, a national First Amendment education organization, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and public television. She co-authored a national curriculum on media literacy. and various First Amendment publications. 

She holds a master’s degree in marketing from the University of Denver
