A veteran of over 30 years of Nashville television, Clifton has been recognized with nine Emmy® Awards.

He began his career at WTVF NewsChannel 5 in l980 as a news photographer, then became director/photographer of Talk of the Town in l985. He was reporter/photographer of Off the Beaten Path from l989-1994. He was a Team-based Management Coach/Change Agent from 1994-1997. From 1997-1999, Clifton was Executive Producer of NewsChannel 5+ Cable Channel 50. Presently, he is a Producer/Director in the station’s Creative Services Department, specializing in Local Commercial Production.

Clifton holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications, with Minors in Speech/Theater and Marketing Management from Middle Tennessee State University.

In addition to his Emmy® Awards, Clifton’s honors include Tennessee Associated Press Best Spot News Photography –1982; Southeast Chapter Society of Professional Journalism-Sigma Delta Chi; and Excellence in Journalism-Feature Reporting-1982.
