Gold & Silver Circle Honors – Original

In keeping with our mission of recognizing excellence in television, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is proud to honor those who have made significant and impactful contributions to the industry through induction into our Gold & Silver Circle honor society.

The Silver Circle recognizes those professionals who have performed distinguished service within the television industry for 25 years or more. Gold Circle members have served the industry for 50 years or more. Gold and Silver Circle members are honored for more than their longevity — they are honored for making an enduring contribution to the vitality of the television industry and for setting standards of achievement we can all hope to emulate. These honorees also give back to the community as mentors, educators and volunteers.

To be considered for induction in the 2023 Silver Circle, a candidate’s career must have begun prior to 1998. For 2023 Gold Circle consideration, a candidate’s career must have begun prior to 1973. An individual’s entire career need not have been spent with a single company or network.

The selection committee will consider the following criteria for all individuals recommended for induction into the Silver and Gold Circle.

  • Service to the television or media-related industries.
  • Service to the community involving television or allied media
  • Service to people working in or training for careers in television or allied media

There will be no outside circulation of ballots, lists of names under consideration, etc. All discussion of candidates will remain confidential. Only the names of those to be inducted will be announced.

The 2023 Gold & Silver Circle inductees will be honored during the Emmy® Awards ceremonies.
